Bray Tutoring LTD

SAFEGUARDING & CHILD PROTECTION POLICY

1. Purpose and Scope

Bray Tutoring Ltd is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We recognise our responsibility to take all reasonable steps to protect children from harm and to create a safe, respectful environment for learning.

We are a UK-based tuition employment business providing tutors to families, schools and other settings, including online delivery.

The tutors we work with are self-employed, and are responsible for the conduct of their own tuition. The majority of the students using our services are in full-time education, and the majority of tuition arranged through our company takes place online. All self-employed tutors working with Bray Tutoring Ltd are qualified teachers with experience and understanding of the education system.

This policy applies to:

  • Employees
  • Tutors supplied or introduced by Bray Tutoring Ltd
  • Contractors, associates and volunteers
  • Company directors

All individuals working with or through Bray Tutoring Ltd are required to share this commitment to safeguarding.

2. Our Safeguarding Principles

Our approach is informed by:

  • NSPCC safeguarding standards
  • The Tutors’ Association safeguarding guidance
  • Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE)
  • Working Together to Safeguard Children

We believe that:

  • The welfare of the child is paramount
  • All children have an equal right to protection from harm
  • Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility
  • Concerns must be reported without delay
  • It is not our role to investigate concerns, but to refer them appropriately

We recognise that some children may be more vulnerable due to additional needs, disability, mental health, or personal circumstances and may require additional safeguards.

3. How We Keep Children Safe

Bray Tutoring Ltd keeps children safe by:

  • Valuing, listening to and respecting them

  • Parents/carers can access sessions if they wish
  • Tutors do not communicate privately with students outside sessions
  • Resources shared must be appropriate and safe

Online safeguarding is treated with equal importance to in-person safeguarding.
